This weekend we hosted our second field trip. It was just as successful as the last one, featuring brighter weather. Unlike the last group, this class has already done a couple of waste-collection drives. This made their visit a bit more exciting as the students were able to get a more tangible sense of where their waste had gone, and had the chance to meet some of the women helped by their efforts.
After taking the children to the center, we returned to Manav Sadhna where we asked them to reflect on their experience. They seemed to really appreciate the opportunity to see where the waste they collect goes, and to meet the PM sisters in person. I was delighted to see how affected they seemed by this experience and believe it will leave a lasting impression.
After the field trip we attended Saturday Special where we sat in a circle with the PM sisters, sung and played games. Someone would begin singing a song, and when they stopped someone would have to start a new song that began with the syllable the last song ended on. After the game we danced the Garba before heading home.
