Celebrating Republic Day of India, Rangoli competition was organised for Sabamati, Motera sisters. Our volunteer Amy also tried her hands before finally judging and giving out the prizes. Interestingly the group with elder-most ladies won the prize. Meanwhile, our sisters from Piyar centre enjoyed wonderful circus show put by Performance without Borders team at Manav Sadhna.
On awareness front, it was an absolute blessing and privilege to have Prof. Hitesh Bhatt, Director-IRMA (the institute where I did my mba) visiting Manav Sadhna. Needless to say, he was immensely inspired with the kind of service carried on by us for all these years. I also got the opportunity to share about the journey of Paryavaran Mitra with my professors and juniors on the same day. We also had students from Riverside school spending time with our sisters helping them in sorting and packaging work. Idea was to understand the whole process right from waste generation to waste collection to recycling.
On the other hand, it gives us immense pleasure to act as a bridge in ensuring good education for 6 more kids from our communities as they got adopted by our friends and families.
So, all in all it was a good satisfying fortnight.
