On Saturday some students from one of the schools we have been working with came for a field trip to learn more about Paryavaran Mitra. First they came to the ashram where we told them a little bit about Manav Sadhna, then we walked about 15 minutes through the nearby community to visit our RUPA Paryavaran Mitra sorting center and recycling centers.
Many of these kids had never seen slum communities, and it seemed to be a very memorable and eye-opening experience for them to see how differently others live. The kids also had the opportunity to meet the Paryavaran Mitra team and learn more about the waste collection process. I think this was a really great experience for these children that will help them be aware of their surrounding communities, and of waste collection. I am looking forward to conducting more field trips soon!
