All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better – Ralph Waldo Emerson
The fortnight was dedicated to thoughtful experiments with creativity.
At one end, we spread awareness in different institutions about E-waste & the importance of disposing them scientifically. Students at Riverside School loved the idea of solving word maze indirectly learning about wastes and its management. We were able to collect 400+kgs of E-waste. Thanks to HSBC, I-creative Technologies, PTC, BAOU- Gandhi Ashram for supporting us.
On the other hand, we launched an initiative named ‘Thank you Didi’, where our sisters are offering basic household services like cleaning, cooking, baby-sitting etc. to the household seeking it. Being a festive season, it will give us good understanding on the overall model & its feasibility.
We are also grateful to Saumitra bhai from Mybageecha.com (portal where we had been selling our up-cycled products) for offering job work on Moss frames to our sisters. This has come out to be a blessing for the group of young women from the community.
We are delighted to have facilitated saving of another 2000 tons of CO2 emission through Paryavaran Mitra (As per the Energy Audit report we received).
Our team member Anant Tiwari recently addressed the students of BULMIM, an mba school in Delhi. Moreover, 8 students have come to Manav Sadhna for two weeks under their Bottom of the Pyramid Program.
So, we are continuing putting our efforts to reach out to more institutions for engaging on different fronts. But bottom-line is always the greater good of our deserving sisters who work day & night to ensure Clean & Green city.
