Balance….

As the temperature is soaring in Ahmedabad touching 45°C every now and then, we take this quarter to focus a bit more towards keeping work-life balance.
As most of the team members are from the community, we are spending good amount of time to build their skills to ensure growth of the organisation alongside the growth of the person. At one end, annual planning was done to bring better time management into perspective, whereas on the other team members are now leading the whole planning and logistics of different organisational programs learning a lot more things.
At project level, it was a good fun filled Saturday Special at Piyar centre where sisters played childhood games like hide & seek. It was really pleasing to see Pragnaben, our team member at Suraksha and a rag-picking woman, confidently sharing her journey at Leadership Forum of Teach for India.
We also started our maiden Self Help Group formation process, a world renowned concept for improving livelihood of lesser privileged section using inter-saving and lending model.
In Suraksha, it is satisfying to finally see all the four machines (baler, grinder, conveyor and compost filter) in action. This will improve the productivity and efficiency of the sisters to a great extent and the same time reduce their efforts in many ways. We are now all set for expanding our engagement to 4000HHs from current 1000HHs.
Last but not the least, it was a matter of pride to have Lt. General Sriniwas, General Officer Commanding XII Corps visiting our Suraksha Centre and showing deep inclination towards replicating this model across different cantonments.
